With our eyes on the arts, we’d like to highlight the exhibit entitled “American Stories” by Paul MacWilliams debuting this week at Beauty Art, Antiques & Gifts in Newtown Square. Celebrate Flag Day and stop by the opening artist reception on June 14th from 4 – 9 p.m. to see almost 3 dozen works depicting local spots like Independence Hall or the Pennsylvania Statehouse, done by MacWilliams, a master realist painter.
Of note is a pair of 50 x 70 inch oil-on-linen paintings depicting a bird’s eye view of Independence Park in 2011 and the Pennsylvania Statehouse in 1776. There’s such a contrast in the images! Lots of open space in 1776 and lots of large buildings in 2011.
MacWilliams will also be at the gallery on Saturday, June 16th from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. to talk about his art.
Read more about the exhibit and see pictures of the oil-on-linen paintings on Beauty Gallery’s website.
