Today we’re talking about…Maurice Sendak: A Legacy.

The work of this author and artist who passed away last month has been loved by both children and adults for decades and now everyone has the chance to see the largest exhibit of Sendak’s artwork at The Rosenbach Museum & Library in Philadelphia.

The year-long exhibit, Maurice Sendak: A Legacy, which opened June 10th, features 65  objects to honor his 65 year career.  A really cool feature of this exhibit is that it will be refreshed with new material every four months and will include work from each of Sendak’s picture books.

It’s amazing  how someone can use pencil, pen, ink and watercolor to create such fantastic worlds of fancy.  It’s truly a testament to his artistic genius.  I love his work but especially images from “In the Night Kitchen.”  What’s your favorite Sendak character or book?
