Today I’d like to share some ideas on how to add art to your garden.
Here at Community Arts Center, we have a lovely cottage garden filled with beautiful flowers and whimsical garden accents. We also have a more formal garden area complete with large bronze sculptures and metalwork. Both gardens provide a place to relax, meditate, and make you smile, and offer a unique space to display art.
If you’re looking to add art to your garden, here are some ways you can do it.
Statuary – I love using statuary of small animals, birds or fish in my garden because I can usually find some pieces that are comical and add a playful touch to the space.
Mosaic – Adding mosaic stepping-stones serve a purpose and provide color. Mosaic stepping stone kits can be found at any craft store and make a fun and easy project for children. You can also mosaic flower pots, a shed wall, table top, or garden bench for a big pop of color in the garden.
Assemblage – You can create a unique and personal composition using a combination of found objects like an old metal garden chair or piece of wrought iron fencing and flower pots, birdhouses, you name it, to create a focal point and conversation piece.
Now it’s your turn to add art to your garden. We’d love to see how you’ve done it.
