Brillo® Kicks off 15 Minutes of Fame Contest

Brillo Boxes, 1964, by Andy Warhol, courtesy of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Today, our eyes are on Brillo®.  Yes, those steel wool soap pads whose boxes became modern works art by Andy Warhol.

Brillo is calling all artists to create and submit an original Cover Design for a limited-edition commemorative book which will celebrate Brillo’s 100 year anniversary in 2013.

The winner of the 15 Minutes of Fame contest will receive a $1,000 Visa® gift card and 10 copies of the book and have their winning design displayed in the Andy Warhol Museum for one month.

If you’re interested in entering the contest, entries can be submitted until August 17, 2012 through Brillo’s Facebook page: Facebook.com/Brillo. Beginning August 17th, the public can vote to determine the top 10 cover designs.  Winners will be announced on September 10th.

Brillo is also asking for site visitors to submit photos of their own creative uses for Brillo. The most interesting photos may also be included in the book.

If you enter, let us know so we can vote for your design.  Good luck!
